MAQ
MAQ is a private company engaged in procuring, processing, manufacturing and distributing aggregate-based construction materials in southern Ontario, specializing in limestone based materials. As our client, we facilitated the planning applications required under the Planning Act for a proposed quarry in Grey County. The land use planning applications were appealed to the Ontario Municipal Board and we represented MAQ at the hearing in support of these planning applications.

Shouldice Designer Stone
Cuesta Planning Consultants Inc. has provided a range of services for Shouldice Designer Stone on a number of projects including zoning by-law amendment applications, consent applications, guidance through the site plan approval process as well as a plan of condominium. The King Eddy condos in Shallow Lake, Ontario recently won an award from the Province of Ontario in regard to historical preservation and restoration of a heritage building.

Town of South Bruce Peninsula
Recently Cuesta staff has been involved in two major projects for the Town of South Bruce Peninsula. Within the Wiarton area, Cuesta performed the necessary statistical analysis, mapping and policy research to facilitate an urban boundary expansion within the Wiarton Settlement Area. Our office has also authored the background study as well as the proposed Growth Strategy for the Sauble Beach Settlement Area.

Township of Georgian Bluffs
The Township of Georgian Bluffs retained Cuesta Planning Consultants Inc. to draft both its Comprehensive Zoning By-law as well as its Official Plan policy and schedules. The Official Plan is in the final stages of approval at this point in time.

Township of Melancthon
In addition to our own projects, Cuesta also becomes involved in various planning applications through the peer review process. The Township of Melancthon has retained Cuesta Planning Consultants Inc. as its peer reviewer for all land use planning documents related to the proposed mega-quarry in Melancthon. We work with the Township in order to thoroughly and objectively analyze this significant land use planning application and potential impacts of the project. We will provide land use planning advice to the approval authority during the decision-making process.

Palmerston Grain
Palmerston Grain is a grain handling facility and large farming and commodity sales operation. It is a family business, owned and operated by the McLaughlin family. This operation and its sub-companies own and farm lands within Grey, Bruce, Huron and Wellington counties. We mainly assist this client with the facilitation of surplus farm dwelling consents/severances.

Bruce Peninsula Stone
We have assisted Bruce Peninsula Stone Ltd. with obtaining the necessary approvals under the Planning Act and the Aggregate Resources Act for quarry operations. We have also represented Bruce Peninsula Stone at the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) with favourable results and a decision of approval of the project from the OMB.

H Bye Construction Ltd.
As a long standing client and local land developer, we have worked with H Bye Construction on a number of projects including plans of subdivision, zoning by-law amendments and aggregate operations approvals.

Great Lakes Framing Company
Great Lakes Framing Company is a locally owned custom builder located in the Grey-Bruce region. We worked with this client on site plan approval through the OMB mediation process.

Ice River Springs
This client has a number of facilities and businesses in our area. We have assisted Ice River Springs in obtaining a variety of land use approvals including official plan amendments, zoning by-law amendments and site plan control approvals. The projects we have worked on with this client include re-designating and re-zoning lands for industrial, commercial and aggregate extraction purposes.

CAW Family Education Centre
Cuesta Planning Consultants Inc. was retained by CAW for a number of projects including obtaining the necessary approvals for a wind turbine on its Port Elgin property. This process included processing the necessary land use applications and representation at the OMB.
